Optional Questions
a) Is your computer/internet connection stable/reliable?
Yes, P2 X4 B50 (X2 550 unlocked to 4 cores, prime95 stable) @ 3.5 Ghz. 4850. 12 Mbps on speedtest using the sydney node. Stable connection on my end.
b) What class/spec are you? why?
Warlock - 3/14/54. Unfortunately i'm not hard hit capped so I have to put a few points into suppression.
c) What is your secondary spec/gear?
PvP
d) Tell us alittle about yourself
The names Jerry. I'm a student at TAFE. I'm a fairly competitive person and i'm really dedicated to any thing I do. I've made mistakes in the past, but what separates me from others is that I actually learn from my mistakes. I'd consider myself an abstract thinker. I'm a team player, and I have very good reflexes, a lot I picked up from playing CS competitively.
e) Please specify your timezone/location
Gosford (between sydney and newcastle).
f) What experience do you have in end game raiding? (specify toons/roles please)
In BC, I was on BT/MH content and had sunwell on progression. WOTLK, most things down, except I left WoW for a while due to personal issues, i've come back permanently though. Before I left the furthest I got was far p3 firefighter. I've done most 3.2 content and know exactly what to do for content I haven't done (hard modes).
g) We raid mon, wed, thurs, fri nights from 8:30 - 12 servertime, will making these raids be an issue?
Nope. I can be on anytime you want. I'm dependable time wise.
h) Will you come to a progression raid having already read any available information relevant to encounters?
Yes.
i) You will need lots of consumables to keep up with the pace during progression raids. Do you have the will and time to put in enough effort to keep an adequate amount?
Yes, I always have a plentyful stock of flasks and food, and somtimes fish feasts.
j) Do you have a working ventrilo setup and mic?
Ventrilo is working, but at the current time, I do not have a mic, as I sold my previous computer which had one. Fortunately, I will hopefully be obtaining one shortly.
k) What are your 2 professions? if they are not maxed to the level of profession perks, why not?
Enchanting - 460/460. Jewelcrafting - 450/450.
l) If you have a gathering profession, what is stopping you from dropping it for a profession that benefits your stats more?
N/A
m) What guild are you currently in/why did you leave your last guild?
Previous - Procrastinate, guild was going downhill and the leadership was weak. Current - Metric, formed of previous disgruntled Procrastinate members, is disbanding due to the low progression.
n) Are you able to accept criticism without crying like a baby?
Not only do I accept criticism, I welcome it. I always seek criticism to improve my ability.
o) Why are you interested in joining Vision? do you currently know anyone in Vision who can vouch for you?

I'm interested in joining Vision because you seem like you actually care about what you do, it's your dedication and the fact that your willing to put the effort in. That's what i'm looking for in a guild, and, i'm sure, you'll find that in me as well.

Praeses and Evasia, although they recently joined, so they most likely do not count. No one else that I am aware of i'm afraid.
p) If your application is accepted. What kind of raider can we expect you to be? Give a brief description of your attitude towards raiding
You can expect a dependable Warlock that can actually move out of fire and maintain a good dps. I consider my attitude towards raiding to be a serious one. While I am aware that it is just a game, I consider high end raiding very serious and not a "game" in the typical sense. In that it's like professional sport.
q) Post a screenshot of your UI while in a raid enviroment (in combat). (Give a list of any relevant addons not shown.)
http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/8080/93983488.png

Unfortunately, I could not get a picture of my raiding ui, but i've set it up so it's similar. For omen, i've set my bar as green as it's been scientifically determined it's the easiest spotted colour. I've also blacked out other's threat since it's distracting and unimportant (compared to my threat). My dotimer is set up above my health bars, sorry you can't see it, but i assure you, i've configured it properly. I'm also configuring the warlock Forte addon, but it's not a priority for me, since i manage fine without it.

While my UI may not be the prettiest, it's, in my opinion, very efficent (except for the action bars, while raiding, they disappear.) and efficency and usuability far outway looks.

My UI is based on the principal that everything is local, I don't have to look from 1 corner to the other to see some information, everything is where I am focusing, and uncluttered.

Re: Application: Solumindin, 80 Warlock
Opps accidently submitted it early, let me fix it up. Also, aparently it says im 75??? I'm 80.

Ok, I fixed it I think, if there's anything that's not clear or missing, or you simply have more questions, just drop me a line.

Manually fixed it. The level I mean. Or not...

DENIED (for the moment)

There's a decent chunk of badge gear thats better than pieces you're wearing.

Just as a note, he did only came back to the game about a week before posting this so he hasn't exactly had a chance to get the easy badge gear.

You mean a hood and pauldrons? It's kinda hard to get badge gear when i've bought t9.25 (is that the term they use?) and when I don't get invited into pugs because I don't have achievements for anything.

But i've recently gotten 3 pieces from ToC, an offhand from ToC10, t9.25 hands and a belt from ToC25.

There must also be a reason your recruiting gear over skill. I also wouldn't say i'm undergeared either, 4.6k GS when i've only been invited to a few pug ToC10s in the 2 weeks that i've been back.

I don't think gear is the issue here. As if I was in an actual raiding guild, i'd actually get badges, instead of what ever I can scavange from the people who don't follow the rule "no ach, no invite" especially considering I know every single fight, and that I have a solid raiding history behind me.

Re: Application: Solumindin, 75 Warlock
Its not that we are putting gear above skill, what they are looking for are people who are dedicated in improving gear and skill wise. Looking at your gear First think i would say is - Conquest badges for Helm and Chest, would be a big improvement - 2 reasons, better stats and a t8.5 set bonus. This isnt hard to do if you are welling to put in the effort. Also on another note, if you are dedicated to raiding, its highly possible to have full t9 set from doing the H dailys. I know this because there are several people in Our guild who have done this. Ok so i noticed that you have only been back for 2 weeks. Sooo looking at that the t9 is out of the question but thats what i would suggest you look at working to do. But go Heroic grinding, fill up on conquest badges so u can get ilvl 226 gear because from our lastest experiences People like yourself (not saying your baddy or anything) have said the Same - Lacking gear but is good raider, and haven't hit the dps like others in the guild. Improving you gear is a way to show your dedication to raiding, and is important for pugs nowdays who judge on GEARSCORE alone.

I am putting effort it, like I said, it's really hard to get into pugs since I don't have achievements so i'm just ignored. Also, i'm not like the other people you described, I have a legitimate reason for not having the latest gear, and the fact that i'm gearing up just by pugging, rather than waiting to be carried by a guild (despite how hard it is to get into a pug) shows that I am putting the effort in. Also, I didn't realise you get conquest badges from heroics now.

Re: Application: Solumindin, 75 Warlock

I would have just accepted you at face value but its more that im concerned that we cant guarantee you a raid position.... which means you'd be in exactly the same position as you are atm.

If you're happy to sit around and see what pops up then i don't see a problem with inviting you.
